FIRST LADY MUSIC

Born March 25th to a family of musicians there was never a silent moment in my home without a song or dance. It became routine for me at the early age of three. My parents recognized my talent early on, they supported my dream by putting me in music workshops where I was trained by world renowned classical pianist Daniel Cason in Birmingham, AL. at the KIDS Christian Music Center. As I continued to study music my passion grew with a love for piano and then flute. My family would say that I had an innate gift just like my late aunt Alwilda Coleman who was inducted into the Birmingham Hall of Fame for her work with Nat King Cole. I had no choice but to follow in her footsteps. It was then that I was fortunate enough to sing alongside gospel great Babbie Mason and American Idol winner Ruben Studdard just to name a few. As time went on, my family and I moved out west to Pasadena, CA where I would continue my pursuit of my musical dream at a collegiate level. Not knowing the things that were ahead I went full force in every music course that was offered. I studied gospel with Betty Griffith-Keller of the James Cleveland singers; Jazz with Roberto Miranda at UCLA and opera with Skye Angulo and Heather Calvete of the Los Angeles Opera House at Long Beach City College along with private lessons with Nena Lockhart-Wallace and Jon DeCuir of SEP music group while doing numerous performances at Victory Bible Church. It was during my collegiate journey; I was fortunate enough to meet vocal producer Gavyn Rhone of 3rd Storee and Q beats of QRS who had to the idea to blend all the techniques I was taught into one sound. They then went on to give me the artist's name First Lady (Fabulous Impeccable Regal Singing Talent) because my vocal stylings stand out in a crowd.
